Call on your attorney general to investigate Exxon

ExxonMobil has known about climate change since the 1970s.

Exxon knew.

In the 1970s, Exxon’s top scientists determined climate change was happening due to greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans.

In the decades that followed, in an attempt to protect its bottom line, Exxon began a campaign of deception and denial — hiding what it learned and manufacturing the climate change “debate.”

It’s time to demand ExxonMobil be held responsible. If you live in one of the 10 target states, please join me and call on your Attorney General to investigate ExxonMobil.

Even though ExxonMobil is a global corporation earning over $16 billion a year, its headquarters are in Irving, Texas. That means we can hold it accountable under U.S. law. Your voice makes a difference. Corporate Accountability International is harnessing the power of the consumer complaint process across the country to put pressure on your Attorney General to investigate ExxonMobil.

What if Exxon had acted on its knowledge? What if it hadn’t spent decades and billions of dollars convincing people that climate change wasn’t real? Just imagine how drastically different the future would look.

Instead, Exxon buried this information. Why? To make more money.

Today, please join me in taking action to ensure ExxonMobil is held accountable for its egregious abuses. Call on your Attorney General to investigate ExxonMobil for its deceptions of the people in your state.

We demand an immediate investigation into Exxon’s unacceptable decades-long deception and denial about the existence of climate change — and especially its cause. You can be part of this historic call to hold ExxonMobil accountable by contacting your Attorney General.

Thank you for taking action today.
