I’m about to head to Germany, where the next round of U.N. climate treaty talks are taking place. I can’t overstate the importance of this meeting. It’s where decision-makers from across the globe are hammering out the details on implementing the Paris Agreement — and we’re running out of time.
Every year when I walk into these meetings, the halls echo with conversation as delegates from around the world make decisions that will help save or doom the planet. And I’m proud to bring your voice into these halls to demand climate justice.
This is the year governments are charting the road map for achieving the commitments laid out in the Paris Agreement. The decisions they make will either unlock a sustainable and just future, or they will give Big Polluters free rein to keep polluting and interfering in climate policy.
Our team is showing up to organize with all our might to support the governments working to enact truly meaningful policy.
But make no mistake: fossil fuel corporations and the governments who do their bidding (like the U.S. and Australia) will also be there to use practically any means necessary to make the Paris Agreement implementation as weak as possible.

At December’s meeting of the U.N. climate treaty, governments have agreed to finalize the pathways that will make the Paris Agreement a reality. Between now and then, we must make sure these plans deliver for people, not Big Polluters.
