This issue of the Corporate Accountability’s Spotlight newsletter shows how Corporate Accountability members have stepped up in the face of a global pandemic and brutal violence against Black people by the police.
In June, we followed the lead of Black-led organizations, and endorsed their three demands to defund the police, invest in Black communities, and call for the resignation of Donald Trump as President. We spoke truth to power in corporations’ virtual shareholders’ meetings, called on elected officials to adopt moratoria on water shutoffs during and following the pandemic, and launched the second phase of our campaign to Make Big Polluters Pay alongside climate justice allies.
