Maureen Taylor, in addition to holding a master’s degree in social work, is a benefits expert, excellent public speaker, and seasoned advocate. She is currently the state chairperson of the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization, an advocacy organization that provides representation to low-income persons who experience conflicts with social service agencies, social security, or other governmental groups. She is responsible for organizing state trainings that include recipients, attorneys, state employees, and legislators. These trainings focus on welfare policies, implementation procedures, and developing new federal and local regulations as asked.
