Big win over bottled water industry

By
Man demands national parks go bottled water free.

We just scored a huge win over the bottled water industry!

The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) failed in its latest bid to wreck our environment. This trade association (and mouthpiece for Nestlé) paid tens of thousands of dollars to lobbyists in Washington. They were trying to convince Congress to pass an amendment that would block national parks from going bottled water free.

But nearly half a million people like you made sure our elected officials stood up for our beautiful national parks. You made this win happen.

You better believe the bottled water industry won’t quietly accept defeat. In a last-ditch attempt, IBWA threw a bureaucratic roadblock in the path to our parks going bottled water free. The National Park Service has been forced to justify bottled-water-free policies in 19 of its national parks — potentially hindering other parks from going bottled water free.

But we’ll make sure bureaucracy won’t get in the way of what’s right for the environment. Keep your eye out for further opportunities to take action.
