In honor of World No Tobacco Day, we released new analysis on the toll that Big Tobacco’s deadly products take on our resources and land—land that could otherwise go toward food that nourishes people.
For instance, each year the land used to grow tobacco in Mexico could instead feed 40,000 people and provide higher-paying, less hazardous jobs to farmworkers. Moreover, making Big Tobacco pay for its decades of health and ecological harm could kickstart the transformation we need towards a future of food, not tobacco.
